Rachel Dorothy Kanode

Rachel Dorothy Kanode, 89, of Christiansburg, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016.
Many will remember Dorothy’s special loving care for family and friends and her ever present mind for business.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband, John M. Kanode; daughters, Sally K. McGuire and Barbara Kanode; grandson, Adam Nuckolls; brothers and sister, William R., James E., Charlie P., Edward E., Ralph B. Vanhoozier, and Helen V. Rose.

Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John D. and Susan Kanode; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy K. and Gary Nuckolls; grandchildren, Denise Faustino, Wendy Hodge, Stephanie Phillips, Joetta Stewart, Chris and Ben Kanode, Jamie, Robbie, and Eric Nuckolls; 14 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July, 25, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Horne Funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July, 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
