Howard, Paul Edwin, 63, of Riner, VA, died on Wednesday, July 22, 2009. He was born on March 29, 1946 in Texas to the late William Henry and Vera Oleta Carter Howard.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret Harbor Howard; children: Robert Howard and wife Ann, and, Mitzie Munroe and husband Jason; grandchildren: Brendan Colin and Liam Munroe, and, Legend Howard; and, brothers and sisters: Kenneth Howard, James Howard, Gloria Livingston, and Patricia McDearmon.
He enlisted in the United States Navy at 17 years of age and served 24 years, including two tours in Vietnam. He later retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was currently working at the Kroger Fuel Center. He enjoyed hunting and golfing, and was an avid reader.
The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home on Friday, July 24, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 10:00 AM from the graveside in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, VA.
