HALEY, OSCAR WARD, age 80, of Christiansburg, VA died Saturday, October 9, 2004 at New River Valley Medical Center.
He was a member of the Alleghany Church of Christ and was a retired employee of Thompson Tire Company, formerly Ridinger Tire, and Carquest Auto Parts.
Born February 3, 1924 to the late John Roy and Mary Johnson Haley, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Willard and Claude Haley. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary S. Haley; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Wesley Burton, Pilot; granddaughter and her husband, Stephanie and Michael Marion, and great grandson, Cassady Marion all of Floyd, VA; sisters, Helen Hudson, Louise (Marshall) Sutphin, Christiansburg, Ruth (Dixie) Gulley, Texas; brothers, Eugene ( Mary) Haley, Sherman (Virginia) Haley all of Christiansburg; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Haley, Radford, Thelma Haley, Christiansburg.
Friends may call anytime after 12 noon on Monday, Oct. 11, at the Horne Funeral Service where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Monday evening. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Richard H. Horne and Rev. Weston Franklin with interment to follow in Sunset Cemetery.
