Nettie Carole Burress, 66, of Elliston, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion & Mary Elizabeth Johnson; and aunt & uncle, Nettie & Martin Kersey.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Burress; son, John J. Burress, Jr.; numerous foster children; best friend, Peggy Heslep; and special friends, Donald & Valerie Whitlock.
Carole was a great Christian wife and mother, with a big heart. She cared for everyone she knew. One of her favorite quotes was “Try to do your best every day” and she lived by that motto.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 5-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 11th at 2 pm at Seneca Baptist Church, Elliston, with Pastor John Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
