Moody, Nedra C., 92, of Christiansburg, VA, went to be with her heavenly father on Monday, October 25, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her father, John R. Carper; mother, Besse M. Carper and sister, Cosby Carper.
She had a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science, both in education from Radford University. She worked in the Montgomery County School System for over 30 years as a teacher, resource teacher and finally assistant principal. Nedra was a life-long member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a member of AKT educational sorority.
She is survived by her son, John C. Moody; her sister, Martha C. Walton; brother-in-law, Sam M.B. Walton and many nieces, grand niece, grand nephews and generations of students she taught.
A special thanks goes out to Anne and Shirley at Southern Care Hospice and the caring staff at Pheasant Ridge Memory Care Unit.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be sent to Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24068 or to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 220 West Main St, Christiansburg, VA 24073. The family will receive friends from 6p.m.-8p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, VA.
