Mrs. Mayo Gilbert Shepherd

Mrs. Mayo Gilbert Shepherd, of Christiansburg, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 4:29 p.m.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a minister’s wife for 66 years and was a faithful servant of the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ballard M. Shepherd. Mrs. Shepherd is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Wilcher (Larry); Jean Shepherd; four sons, David Shepherd (Joann), Ron Shepherd (Holly), Roger Shepherd (Teresa), and Tim Shepherd (Pam); three sisters, Wanda Gilbert, Lois Trump, and Mary Booth; 15 grandkids; 19 great-grandkids; and two great-great-grandkids.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 2-3 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home, with the Funeral Service to begin at 3 p.m. in the Chapel. Pastor Josh Graham will officiate the Service and interment will follow in Shawsville Congregational Cemetery, Shawsville. The family will meet at Cambria Holiness Church after burial for a luncheon.
