McGUIRE, MARVIN MAURICE “MAC”, age 54, of Christiansburg and formerly of Ironto, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at New River Valley Medical Center.
Born August 6, 1953 to the late Paul & Betty McGuire he was also preceded in death by his brother William McGuire.
He is survived by not only a loving sister and brother-in-law but also loving special caregivers, Christine and C.P. Harrell of Radford. A dear sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Robert Linkous, Blacksburg, who during his time of need all our prayers have been answered for him, and we know we will meet him again one day, Also surviving, are brothers, Melvin (Rosemary) McGuire, Salem, Clyde (Linda) McGuire, Ellett, Ralph (Mary Ann) McGuire, Abingdon; a sister, Lilly (Alvin) Boyd of Kentucky; his children, Michael Womack, Elliston, Crystal and Anthony Poore, Hawaii, Elizabeth McGuire, Pulaski, and Frank McGuire, Radford; many special nieces and nephews.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the family to help offset expenses, c/o Marvin's sister Christine Harrell, 6468 Drivers Road, Radford, VA 24141. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Wednesday evening at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. Funeral services will 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, Christiansburg, conducted by Evangelist C.P. Harrell, Jr. and Pastor Doug Martin with interment to follow in Sunset Cemetery.
