SHEPHERD, Marie Agnes Trout, 77 of Elliston went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 28, 2007 from her home.
She was preceded in death by two sons; James Stewart Shepherd, Jr., and Luther Franklin Shepherd, and one son-in-law; Russell Samuel Spangler.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Stewart Shepherd, Sr., twelve children and their spouses; Hobert and Betty Shepherd, Hubert Shepherd, Bertha Worth and Linda, Darlene and Bruce Hite, Betty Brandau, David Shepherd, Mary and Alvin Bryant, Lois and Nathan Dunn, Alice and Kelvin Hodge, Joe and Tina Shepherd, Tommy and Kimberly Shepherd, Timmy and Teresa Shepherd. Mrs. Shepherd is also survived by her nineteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was known to all as Maw and her love, laughter, and great cooking for everyone will be missed greatly.
The family will be receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2007 at The Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, at the First Church of God, 650 Canaan Road, Christiansburg, with Rev. Max D. Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Craig County.
The family request in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to The Shawsville Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 14, Shawsville, VA 24162.
