Margaret Williams

September 8, 1916 — December 16, 2005

WILLIAMS, MARGARET RICHARDSON, age 89, of Shawsville, passed away Friday, December 16, 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther E. Williams.

She was a faithful and active life long member of the First Church of God, Christiansburg. She retried from Imperial Reading with over 40 years of service as an inspector. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Powell Edward and Mellie H. Richardson; five brothers, Oakley Richardson, Erbie Richardson, Luther Richardson, Edward "Junior" Richardson and Samuel Richardson; and two sisters, Lossie R. Reese and Rose R. Lewis.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Julia "Judy" and Clyde "Danny Sisson, Shawsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Freddie and Nina Williams, Collinsville; five grandchildren, Darrell Williams and wife Judy, Covington, Kimberly S. Wells and husband, Charles, Roanoke, Sharon W. Edwards, Reed, NC, William Sisson and wife, Catherine, Mobile, AL, Timothy Sisson and wife, Stacy, Shawsville; and eleven great-grandchildren, Dillon and Travis Williams, Julia, Mary Beth and Scott Wells, Will, Zach and Hannah Edwards, Brown and Daniel Sisson, and Ann Rae Sisson.. Other survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Ray Knox, Seaford; two sisters-in-law, Rosabelle Richardson, Salem, Marie Richardson, Campton, KY; one brother-in-law, Albert Williams, Shawsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her home was always open to family and friends, her heart generous and loving. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. The family would like to Express their appreciation to the staff and special friends at Richfield Recovery and Care Center and Gentle Shepherd Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 3 to 5 pm at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at the First Church of God, Christiansburg, with the Rev. Max Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God, 650 Canaan Road, Christiansburg, VA 24073 or Gentle Shepherd Hospice, 4005 Electric Road, S.W., Roanoke, VA 24010.
