Margaret Shannon Daniel

Margaret Shannon Daniel, 87, of Christiansburg passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. She was born in Jackson, Mississippi on August 5, 1927.

Margaret was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She was a wonderful homemaker, loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. Over the years she volunteered at several elementary schools, libraries, and hospitals. She has been a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church since moving to Christiansburg in 1969. She was a loyal Bama fan, loved reading and enjoyed playing bridge.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Truman K. Daniel, Jr.; her parents, W.D. and Lucy E. Shannon; son, Gary K. Daniel; and brother, Danny E. Shannon.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and James Pharis of Christiansburg; grandson and wife, Nathan and Julie Daniel of Orland, CA; grandson, and fiancée Ryan Pharis and Jenn Bryant of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; granddaughter and husband, Shannon and David Setliff of Claytor Lake, VA; great-grandson, Nicholas Daniel of Orland, CA; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Daniel of New Bern, NC.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with visitation being held one hour prior.
