THOMPSON, MADELINE SMITH, age 79 of Riner passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Elbert and Jocie Bond Smith, eleven brothers, four sisters and a son-in-law, William Dean Griffith.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ward Gray Thompson of Riner; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel & Nancy Thompson; daughter and fiance, Barbara Griffith and Glenn Hancock; daughter and son-in-law, Norma & William Mitchell; grandsons, Eric Griffith, Brian Griffith and Randall Mitchell; great granddaughter, Briana Griffith and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Peters officiating. Interment will be private. The Thompson Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg. (382-2612)
