Linden Paul (L.P.) Colley
January 12, 1926 — May 22, 2015
Linden Paul (L.P.) Colley, 89, of Christiansburg, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Margaret Colley; wife, Nancy Sue Colley; brothers, Wayne, Lewis, Bob, and Carl Colley; as well as his daughter, Sandra Colley Jessie.
L.P. is survived by his children, Paula Snair and husband Pat, Greg Colley and wife Kathy, Joe Colley, Doug Colley and wife Melanie; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Colley and wife Theresa; sister, Anita Matuszko and husband Tony; as well as many nieces and nephews.
L.P. was a World War II Veteran of the Navy and had degrees from Oklahoma State and the University of Virginia. His career in education as a coach and principal extended to Giles, Nelson, Craig, and Montgomery Counties.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 25, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. A. Timothy Hight officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Honorary Pallbearers for the Funeral Service are Richard Ballengee, Omar Ross, Wayne Booth, J.C. Callahan, Robert Dobson, and Jim Earp.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in L.P.’s name to the Christiansburg Recreation Center Senior Activities Fund.
