Lethie Richardson

April 5, 1918 — February 5, 2005

RICHARDSON, LETHIE LYTTON OVERSTREET, of Christiansburg, heard the call from her Savior on February 5, 2005, as he said, "Enough my child. Come dwell with Me in the place I have prepared for you."

She was born on April 5, 1918 to Joseph C. and Flora Alice Lytton. Including her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Allen T. Overstreet; her second husband, Luther W. Richardson; brothers, Harvey Lytton, Emiline Lytton and Wallace Lytton, Mason Lytton; half brother, Minor "Buck" Gilmore; half sisters, Lydia Adkins, Lela Long and Ethel Smart.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are daughter, Phyllis McCormick, of Radford; grandson, Brad McCormick, of Radford; granddaughter and her husband, Becky and Douglas Layne, Locustville; great granddaughter, Michelle McCormick, of Dublin; great great grandson, Camden Mielnicki, of Dublin; great grandson, Justin McKinney, with US Navy stationed in Japan and several nieces and nephews. She has had a long battle with Alzheimer's and for three and a half years has been in the dedicated loving and Christian care of Phyllis Selfe.

The family will be eternally grateful to Ms. Selfe for her tireless commitment to our loved one. We thank her from the depths of our heart and feel that words are shallow for all she has done. She attended the First Church of God in Christiansburg with both husbands and daughter until her declining health intervened. She loved and served her Lord and stressed living by "The Golden Rule" and "The Ten Commandments". She spent her life being a dedicated homemaker and caretaker; always there to help in a time of need.

Visitation will be at the Horne Funeral Home Monday, February 7th from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will be held at Fairlawn Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 8th with pastor Danny Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
