Larry Minnis Chandler, 71, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Oakley and Ruth Hanks Chandler. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Ann Chandler; son, Larry Scott Chandler; grandchildren, Ashlea Light, Haley Chandler, and Hagan Chandler; sister, Phyllis Williams and husband, Jimmy; step-son, Bryan Light; as well as nephews.
Larry served 45 years as an active/life member of the Riner Fire Department. He honorably served his country in the Army and thereafter worked at the post office where he retired as a carrier.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 8, 2013, from 1-3 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Bobby Lorton officiating.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Riner Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 11, Riner, VA 24149.
