Larry A. Adkins, Sr., 62, of Christiansburg went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 4, 2013.
Larry was a member of New Hope Church of God. He was retired from Wolverine and loved playing golf.
Larry is survived by his mother, Dorothy Roop Adkins; father, Charlie W. Adkins; wife, Linda F. Adkins; sons, Larry A. Adkins, Jr. and fiancée Christie Perry, and Brian S. Adkins and his wife Susan; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; brothers, Charlie Gayle Adkins and wife Patsy, and Dusty Hal Adkins; and a sister, Sandy Cox and husband Calvin.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at New Hope Church of God, Mudpike Road, Christiansburg. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 8th at 2 p.m. at New Hope Church of God, with Rev. T. Michael Bond and Rev. Jamie Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
The family would like to thank New Hope Church of God for all they have done, as well as Carilion Hospice and all the family members who have also helped greatly.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Larry’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018 with a notation for Lung Cancer Research.
