Karen Sue Mowles
December 14, 1959 — July 31, 2021
Karen Sue Mowles made her journey from earth to heaven on July 31st, 2021. She was born December 14th, 1959 in Montgomery County. Karen spent her life serving others as a nurse and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She touched so many lives with her kindness, humor, and tender heart. She will be forever loved and missed.
She is survived by her daughters Megan Rock and Jessica Bland; Grandson Christian Blake Rowe; sisters Audrey Roberts and Lisa Hartman; and nieces Jennifer Roberts, Jamie (Roberts) Yassine, Danielle (Akers) Basham, and Ariel Hartman. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Christine and Herman Akers, and her brother Herman Akers, Jr.
A celebration of life will be held on August 5th, 2021, at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2PM, both at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg, VA.
