St.Clair, John S., 85, of Christiansburg, died on February 16, 2007. John was born on January 6, 1922 in Salem, Virginia to Thomas D. St.Clair and Dessie Helms St.Clair.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Thomas D. St.Clair, Jr., Delbert St.Clair and his son, Delbert Lee St.Clair, Virgil H. St.Clair and his wife, Ruth Jones St.Clair. John graduated from New Castle High School in 1941.
He served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps from 1942 thru 1946. He married Margaret A. Elmore of Craig Springs, Virginia in 1943. He was active in the Newport Masonic Lodge #261 for over 50 years. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association of America. He retired from the Celanese Corporation of America with over 35 years of service. He served and worshipped in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
John is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret Elmore St.Clair; sons, John Michael St.Clair and wife Assunta St.Clair of Roanoke, VA; Patrick S. St.Clair and wife, Mona St.Clair of Mt. Morris, PA; daughters, Mary St.Clair Bishop and husband, Kenneth Bishiop of Riner, Virginia; Rebecca St.Clair and husband Charles Ware of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Richard St.Clair, Carrie Bishop Magill, Kevin Bishop, Gavin St.Clair, and John Ware; niece, Sandra St.Clair Puckettt; nephews, Tommy St.Clair and Eugene St. Clair and a sister-in-law, Maude St.Clair.
The Family will hold a visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to a favorite Charity in John?s name.
