John Nelson Matherly

John Nelson Matherly, 79, of Christiansburg, passed away on December 25, 2016. He worked for RAAP and retired after 34 years of service.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Quinton and Ella Matherly; and his former wife, Pat Matherly. He is survived by his daughters, Leigh Anne Davidson and husband Wayne and Julie Trent and husband Scott; grandchildren, Cymric and Ashlyn Davidson, Payton and Miranda Phillips; sister, Shirley Ann Martin and husband Gayle; and his special cat, Abby.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016, a t 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chris McLain officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
