Mann, John Cary, 70, of Riner, VA, passed away on December 13, 2010. He was born in Dante, VA on March 13, 1940 to the late William Horace Mann and Nannie Osborne Mann.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Mann, and an infant brother.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Judy Phillips Mann; one daughter, Susanne Mann Earls and husband, Brian; two grandchildren, Joshua Ray Earls and Sarah Ann Earls, of Roanoke, VA; three brothers, Bill Mann and wife, Jean, of Lima, Ohio, Jack Mann and wife, Shirley Ann, of Melbourne, Fl, Larry Mann and wife, Darlene, of Lebanon, VA; two sisters, Julia Mann Johnson and husband, Giles, of Bristol, VA, Joy Mann Powers, of Abingdon, VA. Mr. Mann is also survived by his mother-in-law, Edith Phillips; one brother-in-law, Robert Phillips; two sisters-in-law, Betty Shelburne and Patricia Bobbitt; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Dennis Curd officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, VA.
