John East

East, John R. “Bubby”, 70 of Christiansburg went to be with the Lord, Friday, May 16, 2008 from his home with his family by his side.

Mr. East was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church, and retired after 23 years from Frito-Lay and had farmed for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years; Joyce East, son and daughter-in-law; Karry and Stephanie East, daughters and sons-in-law; Regina and Steve King all of Dublin, Chelista and Todd Linkous of Christiansburg. Mr. East is also survived by his mother-in-law; Louise Lytton of Christiansburg, grandchildren; Brittney East, Kymber Mitchell, Ryan East, Alexya East, Karah East, Tyler King, Lauren King, Ashley Linkous, Jeremy Nielsen, and Danielle Wirt, and special friends to numerous to mention.

The family will receive friends at Horne Funeral Home, Monday, May 19, 2008, from 5 – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Tom Bonn officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
