Joe C. Stanger, age 76, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 in the Richfield Nursing Center, Salem.
He attended Virginia Tech and Virginia Western and was a retired employee of Hubbell Lighting, Christiansburg, VA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betty F. Stanger; daughter, Kathy Burroughs and husband, Tim; New Castle; a brother, Harry Stanger and wife, Doris; numerous special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of 2 West at Richfield Retirement Center for their care of Joe.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 pm Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 5th in the Horne Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Jerry Dowdy officiating. Interment will follow in Belmont Cemetery.
