EMANUELE, JOAN, age 67, of Shawsville passed away Sunday, June 5, 2005 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francesco Lazzarino and Angelina Mary Scozzafava, and her son, Mark Emanuele. She enjoyed traveling and loved life.
She was the beloved wife to her husband, Salvatore V. Emanuele; beloved mother to her children, sons, Joseph C. Emanuele, Salvatore D. Emanuele, Michael H. Emanuele of Charlottesville, VA; Richard Emanuele of Richmond, VA; daughters, AnnMarie E. Cash of Christiansburg; Joanne E. Whitehead of Piney River, VA; and Diane E. Glenn of Roanoke; and beloved grandmother of 19 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine and Carmel; and brother, Nick.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005 with Mr. Richard Emanuele and Brother Benedetto Emanuele officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The Emanuele Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, (382-2612).
