Ledford, Jr. James V., 84, of Christiansburg, VA, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday January 10, 2010.
He was born on March 3, 1925 to the late Virgie Carden and James V. Ledford, Sr., being a minister for many years, he was a faithful member of Faith Christian Church. Prior to marriage he served in the Marine Corp, in WWII, he also retired from Hercules after 37 years.
He was a committed and loving husband, best friend, loving father and grandfather, dedicated Bible reader, he was mostly committed to his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Whitlock, three children, Brenda Akers,James V. Ledford, III
and Cynthia Grubb.He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Oeda McCoy and Meleta Moran.
There will be no visitation, a memorial service will held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel and remains interred at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. With all the care received by Kroontje Healthcare, we truly thank-you and appreciate all that was done. We would also like to thank Carilion Hospice.
