James 'Jim' Lynwood Leedy

James Lynwood Leedy, 74, of Christiansburg, passed away on March 26, 2020.
He was born on July 6, 1945, to the late, Fred Slemp and Vada C. Leedy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred N. Leedy; daughter, Rebecca Miles; granddaughter, Samantha Rentch; father and mother-in-law, George and Edna Marie Spangler. Jim is survived by his wife, Linda Spangler Leedy; daughters, Amanda Turner (London), Angela Rentch (Brandy), Michelle Yates; son, William Danny Rentch (Pauline); brother, Gary Leedy (Sophia); granddaughters, Alexis Brown, Samantha Pennington (Cody), Skylar Miles, Amanda Rentch (Evan), Katie Davis (Jacob), Paulina Sawyers; grandsons, Billy Rentch, Trey Kerry, Steven McClelland (Jenna), Brandon Sawyers, Hunter Davis; great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Lilly, Asher, Mireya, Christopher ‘Bubba’, Liam, Chloe, Braxton, Janessa, Bradon, Jazzmyn, and Alexis; as well as many friends made along Jim’s 74 year journey.
Jim wasn’t a perfect man, but he was a loving, caring, thoughtful man. People he loved he loved deeply and forgivingly.
Jim was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a loving, giving husband for 28 years. Though some refused to return his love, he continued to always have them in his heart.
Jim was a proud lifetime member of Radford Fire Department, where he enjoyed many friends and often spoke fondly of his days fighting fires with the guys.
Jim will be sadly missed by his wife and the people he proudly called his family, and his little Yorkie, Jazzy Jo.
A Memorial Service is planned for July 31, 2020, at 4 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to share a memory at that time.
