Hobert L. Ashworth, 86, of Christiansburg, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Martha Roop; his first wife, Louise B. Ashworth; and his second wife, Lorene R. Ashworth.
He is survived by his daughter, Wilma Alderman & husband Bob; grandchildren, Stacey Madison and David Sisson & wife, Becci; great-grandchildren, Brooke and Brandon Vannoy, Brianna and Dalton Madison, and Grace Sisson; and many other extended family.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 10 am at Horne Funeral Home, with the funeral service to begin at 11 am in the Chapel. Pastor Dwayne Martin will be officiating. Interment will follow in Shawsville Congregational Church Cemetery, Shawsville.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Hobert’s name to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P O Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24068 or to the Christiansburg Police Department, Police Officers’ Fund, c/o Darren Epperly, 10 East Main Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
II Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
