ZIMMERMAN, Herbert, 78 of Christiansburg died November 23, 2010 at his home after a short battle with cancer.
Mr. Zimmerman retired from RAAP after twenty seven years of service, he belonged to Radford Host Lions Club, Masonic Lodge no. 316 in Kent, Ohio.
Mr. Zimmerman was born on November 8, 1932 to the late Edward Zimmerman and his surviving mother; Alberta Zimmerman Hahn.
He is also survived by his wife; Sally Christensen Zimmerman, sons and daughter-in-law; Herbert and Debra Zimmerman, II, Michael Zimmerman, daughter and son-in-law; Bonnie and Frank Walker, sister and brother-in-law; Judy and Jim McGrath, brother and sister-in-law; Ron and Sarah Zimmerman. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Tauro, Dr. Goldsmidt and Carlion New River Valley Hospice for the care given to Mr. Zimmerman.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Sutphin officiating.
