Henry Connelly

June 25, 1953 — April 10, 2009

Branch Connelly, 55 of Christiansburg, passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 10, 2009 at his home after a long courageous bout with cancer.

He was the son to the late Willard S. and Elizabeth H. Connelly. He spent most of his early life in Salem Virginia, then moved to Craig County Virginia and before settling in Christiansburg Virginia.

Branch is survived by his wife, Beth, his son Mykkel, a stepson Ryan and one child by Beth and Branch, Matthew Crockett. Surviving siblings include a sister Elizabeth Connelly Jimenez of Raleigh and her husband Juan, Brothers David Elliott of Huntington Beach California, E. H. “Kip” and wife Patricia of Roanoke, Peter Heath and wife Cynthia of Vero Beach Fl, and Robert R II and wife Dorothy of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Surviving nieces include, Heather, Karen, Meredith, Michelle, and nephews; Patrick, Kevin, Christopher and Jonathan.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lois L. Horton, brother-in-law and his wife, David and Sandy Horton, and grandmother-in-law, Pauline (Nana) Lorton. Special friends include Angie Fulton, Bobby and Linda Eanes, Michael Hanley, all of his friends at W.S. Connelly and Company, and beloved dog Maggie.

The family wishes to acknowledge Geoffrey Weiss and all the wonderful staff at UVA Medical Center and also Carilion Hospice. Branch loved his family more than anything in the world. He is dearly loved and will be eternally missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at The Horne Funeral Home, Sunday, April 12, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. and Monday, April 13, 2009 from 10 – 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke.
