Henrietta Logan

LOGAN, Henrietta Lewis, age 82 of Christiansburg went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 3, 2004.
Born on September 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Cam J. and Clara Nolan Lewis of Pennington Gap, VA.
She was a graduate of Pennington High School and Radford State Teachers College, with a B. S. Degree in Elementary Education. She taught school for 34 years and retired in 1986. She was also a housemother at Radford College for three years.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, March M. Lewis and Ben Cam Lewis; three sisters, Cora Lewis Creech, June Lewis Smyth, and Virginia Lewis Sullivan. Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon & Paul Sarver of Christiansburg, VA; one brother, James P. Lewis of Lebanon, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Henrietta was an active member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Christiansburg, where she was a substitute teacher for an adult ladies class, and an active participant of the prayer ministry. For several years she was affiliated with the Chuck Colson Prison Fellowship Ministry.
The family will receive friends at Horne Funeral Home on Sunday, June 6 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 7 at the Main Street Baptist Church in Christiansburg with Dr. Timothy Hight and Rev. Gary Long officiating. Mrs. Logan will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services to lie in state until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
