Helen Williams

November 13, 1916 — August 24, 2006

Helen Vest Williams of Christiansburg, VA died gently and peacefully on the evening of August 24, 2006.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, K.T. "Jack" Williams; her parents, P.L. and Maggie Vest; sisters, Madge McDonald, Nancy Jones; brother, Paul Vest; brothers-in-law, Carl Dunn, Jack McDonald, Bob Weimer, Skinny Jones and Haven Williams; sisters-in-law, Betty Weimer, Betty Williams and Betty Vest, and nephew;Jeff McDonald.

The remaining family members are: daughter, Nancy Ann Williams; sister, Agnes Dunn; nieces and nephews, Leslie Dunn, Lisa Godwin, Joni McDonald, Ken Jones, Alice Williams, Karen Williams, Ripley Williams,Beth Williams, Gary Vest and Alison Vest; sister-in-law,Marie Williams, and brother-in-law, Rip Williams.

She was a member of the Christiansburg St Paul United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. Helen was a modest woman who loved her home, family, birds, flowers and her dog, Buttons. She was a gentle, kind and generous woman who shared her talents of knitting, sewing, and cooking with family, friends, and strangers. Helen touched the hearts of those who knew her in a quiet and loving way. She will be sorely missed.

A special thank you to the staff of Wheatland Hills Retirement Center of Radford and the staff of Carilion New River Valley Medical Center for the tender and thoughtful care shown to Helen and her family. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg, VA. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2006 at the St Paul United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at Monte Vista Cemetery in Princeton, WV. The family requests no flowers. The Williams family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg.
