Helen Sutherland

SUTHERLAND, Helen Hixon, 78, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at her home.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Larry and Donah Sutherland, daughter and son-in-law; Marlene and Henry Stafford all of Christiansburg, brothers; Ruben Hixon, David Hixon, both of Christiansburg, James Hixon of Radford, Kenneth Hixon, sisters; Erma Frierson, both of Maryland, Ruby Wood, of Christiansburg. Mrs. Sutherland is also survived by her six grandchildren; Missy Alls, Tracie Lewis, and fianc?, Jim Wilson, Chris Hylton, Matthew Harris and fianc? Karen Hodge, Chris Stafford and Christina Cummings, and Stephanie Stafford, six great grandchildren; Katie Alls, Kenzie Lewis, Brian Hylton, Travis Hylton, Drake Stafford and Devin Stafford.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Carilion Hospice and Dr. T. P. Davis. There will be a memorial service held in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2006. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Carilion New River Valley Hospice, 707 Randolph St., Suite 251, Radford, VA 24141.
