Helen Miller

MILLER, HELEN LORENE CUSTER, age 82, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Angels she so dearly loved, on Saturday, September 22, 2007.

She was a coalminers daughter born on September 6, 1925 to the late Thomas Albert and Mary Melvinia Surface – Custer. She has been met in heaven by her loving husband Junior Allen Miller and dear son Mark David Miller. She was also preceded in death by a sister Rachel Custer, and four brothers, Albert, Joe, Red and Robert Custer.

Left to cherish her dear memory are her daughter Brenda D. Miller; sons, Clark Allen Miller, George Thomas Miller and wife Nora, John Gregory Miller and wife, Ricki all of Christiansburg; son, Gary L. Miller and wife, Nancy of Florida. Grandchildren, Gary L. Miller, Jr. and wife, Melanie of Florida, Crystal and husband Perry Cook, Radford, Jessica Miller and fiancé, Darryl Quesenberry, George Thomas Miller, Jr. and girlfriend, Amber Perry, T.J. Taylor and wife Brook, and Rusty Miller and wife, Kim all of Christiansburg; a sister, Frances C. Pettus, Radford; special nephew and wife, Randall and Debbie Custer, Christiansburg. A special niece Mabel “Tootie” Custer, Christiansburg. A very special friend who called her mom, Verna and husband, Kenny Lovern of Riner and many other dear family members.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to her most loved and favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Monday evening at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Bobby Sutphin with interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
