Helen Gertrude Lavinder

Helen Gertrude Lavinder, 94, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 (June 11th being her beloved late husband’s birthday).

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Lavinder; two sisters, Levon Eldridge and Mae Graham. Helen is survived by her children, Reka Nance and husband Mac, Jimmy Lavinder, Ronnie Lavinder and wife Becky, Diana Lavinder, Danny Lavinder and wife Laurie; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Opal Nixon and husband Grover Nixon, Wilma Brumfield; daughters-in-law, DiAnn Lavinder, Pam Lavinder, Rebecca Roberts; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She worked at Fred Whitaker and Friendship Manor for many years.

Visitation will be Friday, June 15, 2018, from 1-2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
