Glenna Earles

Glenna Mae Earles of Christiansburg, was born on June 29, 1930, and died on Thursday, April 4, 2013. She was the daughter of the late James Victor Earles and Katherine Wright Earles. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Lewis Earles, Sr.; and her niece, Carol Lewis Earles.
Glenna is survived by her nephew, James Lewis Earles, Jr., of Roanoke; her great-nieces, Katherine Earles Brown (Charlie), and Kendall Christine Earles; great-nephew, James Kirkwood Earles; great-niece, Kristen Dangerfield Gutzmer (Chris), and their daughters, Hailey Nicole Gutzmer and Lyndsey Michelle Gutzmer of Richmond, VA; her sister-in-law, Jean Britt Earles; and many extended family members and friends.

Glenna was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Christiansburg, where she was a faithful member for many years. She worked at Blue Ridge Overall Company as an inspector for 35 years, until the plant closed in 1988. Glenna was active in the senior Olympics at Christiansburg Recreation. She also enjoyed being with her friends, and she loved walking every day.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Doug Kanney officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
