Geraldine Phillips

August 24, 1922 — October 25, 2010

PHILLIPS, Geraldine Miller, of Christiansburg continued her journey and joined God in Heaven on October 25, 2010. Jeri was born in Smithville, West Virginia on August 24, 1922.

She was the daughter of A.D. and Aradane Miller. Jeri was instrumental in initiating community improvements in downtown Christiansburg. She was involved in Girl Scouts, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Christmas Store, and Fall Festivals at St Paul United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers; Mike Miller and Larry Miller.

She is survived by her husband; Robert Bernard Phillips who shared 66 years of loving marriage. R.B. and Jeri have four children; Patty Phillips Robbins and husband; Phil of Big Stone Gap, VA, Robert Wayne “Butch” Phillips who lived with and cared for Jeri at their home in Christiansburg, Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Phillips and his wife; Elizabeth Moschler Phillips of Deland, FL, and Peggy Phillips Paino and Greg Paino of Tarpon Springs, FL.

Also surviving are her eight grandchildren; Andy Robbins, Wes Robbins, Brad Robbins, Erin Phillips Slicer, Kristen Phillips, Brent Phillips, Alex Paino and Clay Paino. Six great grandchildren also surviving are; Kelsey Robbins, Cassie Sturgill, Kendall Robbins, Ashlyn Robbins, Landon Slicer and Jacob Slicer.

The family will receive friends at St Paul United Methodist Church from 1 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Michael Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions by made to the Child Fund International, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294.
