Thomas, George Kelley, 75, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family and went to be with the Heavenly Father above.
He is survived by his wife, Susan S. Thomas; Daughters, Mary Roop, Dianne Ridgell, Brenda Nicewander, and Wanda Duncan; brothers, Virgil (Link) Thomas and Harvey (Ance) Thomas; sister, Betty Brewer; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. George also loved his special animals of the home and his neighbors’ animals.
George was a loving and devoted Christian husband, father, brother, uncle and friend and was loved abundantly by all.
The family would like to thank Lewis Gale Montgomery, Carilion Roanoke Memorial and Carilion New River Valley hospitals and Good Samaritan Hospice for all of their care given.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to assist with expenses.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at New Hope Church of God. A funeral service will follow at the church at 2:00 pm with Pastor T. Michael Bond and Pastor Jamie Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
