Frankie Bain

July 10, 1919 — August 15, 2010

Bain, Frankie Dickerson, of Rutledge, GA, went to be with her Lord Jesus on August 14, 2010, her family members were present when she began her eternal journey.

She was the daughter of the late James Blane and Bertha Quesenberry Dickerson and was born in 1919 in Floyd County, Virginia. She married the late Marshall Bain in 1940 and they had three children, Allen, Ethel and Roger.

She was a proud housewife and mother who loved to cook for her family; her grandchildren remember her preparing favorite dishes at family dinners, but the most requested were potato salad, banana pudding and sausage gravy and biscuits. She would always say “you want more?” They always did!

She is survived by her son, Allen Bain and wife, Joyce, of Riner, VA, daughter, Ethel Lytton, of Rutledge, GA; grandchildren, A.J. Bain and wife, Shirley; Jennifer Bain East, Samuel Bain, Rhonda Lytton Hill and husband, Chris; John Lytton and wife, Julie; Ryan Lytton and wife, Samantha; Tammy Bain Pannell and husband, Randy; Kimberly Bain Davieds and husband, Rick; Chad Everett Bain and wife, Jessie; Olivia Bain Altizer and husband, Kevin; great-grandchildren, Skylar Bain, Dylan East, Sierra East, Avery Hill, Byron Hill, Jonathan Hill, Hannah Gillespie, Hadley Lytton, Eric Pannell, Allie Pannell, Brittany Akers, Helena Davieds, Rebecca Davieds, Camden Bain, Cole Bain, Alyson Akers, Jaden Altizer; her siblings, Blane Dickerson and wife, Jean; Robert Dickerson (Mae’s twin), Mae Dickerson Turner (Robert’s twin), Doris Branson Dickerson (Junior Ray’s wife).

The family wishes to thank Miss Ann Harrison who devoted her time to caring for “my granny”. The Centennial Baptist Church has been a tremendous blessing through several Sunday school classes who would see things that needed to be done and did them! Rev. Wilburn Hill has been faithful to visit in the home and hospital; we were blessed by your presence. We thank you Centennial family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 6p.m.-8p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg, VA. The funeral will be at Bain’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Radford on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1 p.m., with Rev. David Bain officiating.
