Frances Roop Bowyer, 89 of Christiansburg, passed away on November 25, 2013.
She was born on January 22, 1924, to the late Walter and Cynthia Roop. Cynthia passed away when Frances was young. She was raised afterward by the late Ada Midkiff and Mary Parrish. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Allen Bowyer; great-grandchild, Christopher Lawrence; numerous brothers and sisters; son-in-law, Charles Remines; and daughter-in-law, Shelva Bowyer. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Remines of Princeton, WV; son, Jerry Bowyer of Pilot; grandchildren, Fran and Shannon East, Vickie and Robbie Ruble, Jerry and Kim Bowyer, Jr., Jimmy and Debbie Bowyer, and Andy and Tonya Bowyer; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Harmon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred Farley officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service.
