Estil Graham

September 15, 1936 — June 28, 2014

Estil Henry Graham, 77, of Riner, went home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2014. He was at home, surrounded by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George R. and Garnette D. Graham; daughter, Sheila D. Graham; and niece, Dee Dee Davidson. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Betty B. Graham; his children, Teresa Weaver, Ronald Graham, Mike (Lisa) Graham, Barry (Cindy) Campbell, Sandy (Rick) Smith, Eddie (Kathi) Graham, Hope (David) Whiting, and his caboose, Melissa Graham; close family friend, Ted Prol; brother, Vincent (Faye) Graham; sister, Judy Davidson; brother-in-law, John “Buddy” (Bonnie) Bussard; 17 special grandchildren; and 20 precious great-grandchildren; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Jonesville High School in Lee County, VA, where he grew up, and later attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VA Tech) with a major in Engineering. He worked most of his life in road construction on several projects across Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. His most recent jobs were the bypasses in the Christiansburg/Blacksburg area, with his last project being the Hillsville bypass. He loved construction and spent nearly 50 years building a road to somewhere. He also enjoyed a love of flying and had become a pilot. He was not able to go up as much as he would have wanted to, but now he will be soaring with the Angels in Heaven forevermore! We Love You Daddy!

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Tom Allred, Rev. Dennis Mann, and Pastor Steve Lackey officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.

The family wishes to thank Mindy, Tina, Tony, Tammy, Bill, John, and Kim with Good Samaritan Hospice for all they do and the care they provided for us all.
