Basham, Esma Bishop,75, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Lane Bower Basham, her parents John and Mary Willis Bishop and brothers, Carl S. Bishop, Sr. and Robert Christian Bishop.
She retired from General Electric Co. with 33 years of service. Survivors include, one sister Elsie Gould, Levittown, PA, two brothers, John David Bishop, Dunn, NC and Allen Willis Bishop, Christiansburg, VA, sister-in-law, Josephine K. Bishop, Pulaski, VA, special nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m Monday November 29, 2004 at the Horne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Homer D. Sawyer officiating. Internment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Joy Ranch for Children, P.O. Box 727, Hillsville, VA 24343 or the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24068. The Basham Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, 382-2612.
