SLUSHER, ERNESTINE C., age 87, of Franklin Parke Court, Christiansburg, passed away at her home Friday, January 28, 2005.
She was a retired laboratory technician with Sealtest dairy in Roanoke. The daughter of the late Quinn D. and Elsie Creasey Slusher, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Q.D. "Dick" Slusher.
Surviving her are two sisters, Louise S. Horne, of Christiansburg and Donna June Baber of Bedford; a nephew, Richard H. "Dickie" Horne and his wife, Pat, of Christiansburg; a grand niece, Heather L. Horne and her husband, Eric Brown of Tallahassee, FL; a great nephew, Brian R.H. Horne and his wife, Amy, of Christiansburg and their children, whom she considered to be grandchildren, Rachel, Grayce, Quinn, and Makenna; special neighbors, Squeaky and Lisa Valentine and their children, whom she also considered to be grandchildren, Sam, Olivia and Natalie; special friends, Terry and Ed Wilson, all of Christiansburg.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 1 from the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Dr. Don Dunlap with interment in Sunset Cemetery. Those desiring to make memorial gifts are asked to consider the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or the Christiansburg Fire Department. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 Monday evening at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg, VA (382-2612)
