Ernestine Frith

Ernestine Burton Frith, 87, of Radford, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 23, 2012. She was born February 16, 1925 in Montgomery County, VA to the late Jacob Frank and Laura Bryant Burton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James R. Frith; son, Avis M. Frith; brother, Jacob D. Burton; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin J. and Alice H. Burton and Robert E. and Evelyn P. Burton.

She was a member of Radford Church of Christ and retired from R.A.A.P. She was very active with the Republican Women’s Committee and Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. She loved to travel and enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She is survived by sons, Dennis L. Frith, of Radford, VA and Mark B. Frith and wife Pamela of Christiansburg, VA; daughter-in-law, Julia C. Frith; grandchildren, Jamie Reynolds of Longshop, VA, Christopher Boggs of Elliston, VA, Jennifer K. Frith of Roanoke, VA, Lynda G. and T. Lee Hawley of Christiansburg, VA, and Rachel E. Frith of Christiansburg, VA; six great grandchildren; many special cousins, nieces, and nephews; and a special long-time friend Mrs. Elise Dudley.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers and staff of Wheatland Hills, Radford, English Meadows, and Carilion Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 am at Radford Church of Christ with Rev. John Croft officiating. Interment will follow in Burton Family Cemetery.
