Ernest Monroe McGuire

Ernest Monroe McGuire, 81, of Christiansburg went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2019. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren. Ernest enjoyed hunting and fishing, but enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren most of all. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 56 year who cared for him the last four, Joyce Ann McGuire; son, Shawn McGuire and wife, Terri; grandchildren, Todd McGuire, Jonathan McGuire and Austin McGuire; sisters-in-law, Christine, Brenda, Karen, Janice and Lisa; and many nieces and nephews. Joyce would like to thank special niece, Linda Blankenship and sister-in-law, Karen. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday. July 17, 2019 at Horne Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roy Turpin officiating.
