Johnson, Ernest Edward, 88, of Christiansburg, passed away October 30, 2004. He was preceded in death by a wife, Bessie Lee Johnson; a sister, Annie Brumfield; a brother, Claudie Johnson; and a stepdaughter, Joan Hodge Bartlett.
He was a member of Faith Christian Church of Christ and McDaniel Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Irene Hodge Johnson; a son, Ernest Edward (Eddie) Johnson, Jr. and wife, Becky, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Amy Johnson, of Christiansburg; Matt and Laura Johnson, of Hampton; great granddaughters, Alexandra and Brianna Johnson, of Hampton; stepchildren, Judy and Morris Jarlenski, Robert (Bob) and Bonnie Hodge, Lynn and Judy Hodge, all of Roanoke; and Jimmie Hodge.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004 at Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Hershel Stone and Mr. Otto Conley officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Horne Funeral Service from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m..
The family has requested In Lieu of Flowers Contributions be made to: Blue Ridge Christian Camp, P.O. Box 428, McCoy, VA, 24111 or to Colegio Biblico, 264 Brazos St., Eagle Pass, TX, 78852.
