ELWOOD C. “WOODIE” SMITH, 60, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on April 19, 2011.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Smith; and a brother, James Smith, Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Cleo G. Smith; a sister, Darlene Y. Smith; niece, Lisa Johnson; and nephew James D. Smith.
He was a longtime resident of the Southwest VA Training Center in Hillsville before moving to his host home with Jason England.
“Woodie” enjoyed fishing and recently traveled with his caregiver, Jason, to Alaska for a special fishing trip. He loved hot dogs and Dr. Pepper.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at 11 am at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, with Reverend Carson Linkous officiating.
