Ellen Josephine 'Jo' Nunley

Ellen Josephine ‘Jo’ Nunley, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2015, where she was reunited with her mother, Pearl Roop; father, Harless Vest; her husband, Robert ‘Bob’ Nunley; daughter, Ellen Walters McGuyer; and sisters, Helen Accord, Claudine McGuyer, and Anne Vest.

Jo is survived by her daughter, Shirley Walters; son, Glen Walters; beloved granddaughter, Holly Dickerson; sisters, Linda Bower and Velma Gibson; uncle, Nelson Vest; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A very special thank you goes to the staff at English Meadows for their loving care of Jo and to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, especially Kim for her wonderful care and help at the end.

The family received friends on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Matthew Kirkland officiating. Interment followed in Huffville Cemetery.
