Edward Van Lear

Edward Tilman Van Lear, 70, of Christiansburg, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, November 28, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Catherine Van Lear of Clifton Forge, VA.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Lillian H. Van Lear; sons Edward Van Lear, II of Christiansburg and Mark Van Lear of Louisa, VA; daughter, Amanda Leddy and husband Harvey of Eden, NC; granddaughters, Rebecca, Rachel, and Hannah Leddy and grandsons, Tanner Van Lear and Stephen Leddy. Also surviving is a brother, David H. Van Lear and wife, Carolyn and a sister Kathryn Neckerman and husband William, all of Pendleton, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Donald Makin and Rev. Cheryl Peeples officiating. Internment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 30 at Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 or to Good Samaritan Hospice, 125-E Arrowhead Trail, Christiansburg, VA. 24073.
