Dwain Taylor

January 7, 1956 — May 5, 2013

Heaven gained an angel Sunday, May 5, 2013, when Dwain Lynn Taylor “Slick” of Radford, left his earthly body behind and entered the pearly gates of heaven.

He was preceded in death by a special cousin and friend, Darren Yates that we’re sure greeted him Sunday with a big hug. He leaves behind a beloved wife of over 38 years, Linda Taylor; daughter, Margaret Taylor, whom he loved dearly. Also left behind are his wonderful parents, Charlie & Van Taylor, whom he thought the world of. Also left to cherish his memory are his sister, Danah & John Howell; his brothers, David & Vickie Taylor, Roy & Donna Taylor, Tom & Penny Taylor, Larry & Debbie Taylor; sister & brother-in-law, Gayle & Gary King; nieces, Patty & Harvey Hill, Amanda & Mike Bush, Danah & Tyson Brummer, Virginia & Robert Lilly, Bobbie & Said Lazo, Laurie Morgan, Shawna King; nephews, John & Prissy King, Charlie & Carie Taylor, Adam & Karen Taylor, and Kevin Morgan. As he loved children dearly his great-nieces and great-nephews will mourn the loss of Uncle Lynn including one of his best buddies Blair, Kelsey, Xavier, Otto, Taylor, Daniel, Drew, Evan, Peyton, Isaac, Harrison, Hampton, Helen, Aaron, Paige, Omar, Solomon, Uly, Coy, and Shaylee. Also left behind are special friends, Michelle Yates, Clay Walker, Brad Naff, Hugh Hale and all his fishing friends.

Lynn loved his family so much and that is why he fought such a hard, courageous battle to beat cancer. He had a great love for the Lord and while he didn’t want to leave, he wanted to see Jesus. Lynn also loved to fish, hunt and cheer for the Greenbay Packers.

Special thanks to the Dr. McCoy and the staff at Blue Ridge Cancer Center, Lewis Gale Montgomery Regional Hospital, Moog, and VDOT for their help and support during his illness.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9th at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Everett Shepherd and Rev. Sebert Rorrer officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
