Dorothy Keyes

Dorothy V. (Dot) Keyes, born June 6, 1926, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Keyes; her mother, Leona B. Keen; her father, Jonas W. Keen.
She is survived by her son, George W. (Butch) Keyes & wife, Debbie; 2 daughters, Myra A. Cromer & husband, Randy and Teresa K. Hixon & husband, David, all of Christiansburg. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and her special cat, Bandit.
She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church, where she loved serving the Lord!
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2012, from 6-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 11 am at Open Door Baptist Church, Christiansburg, with Pastor Mike Johnston and Rev. Raymond Klaiber officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Dot’s memory to Open Door Baptist Church, P O Box 2524, Christiansburg, VA 24068.
