HARVEY, DOROTHY HIXON, age 69, of Christiansburg passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2004.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. & Mackie Hixon, husband, Preacher Harvey; sons, Gary Wayne Harvey and Steven Harvey; brothers, Sam & Junior Hixon; sisters, Lucille Bateman and Hazel Taylor.
Survivors include her son, Buster Harvey and fiance, Barbara Thompson; daughters and sons-in-law, Susie Harvey, Molly & Henry Stafford, Lisa Harvey, Heather & Bobby Johnston; Dolly & Chuck Custer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth & Marie Hixon, James & Imogene Hixon, Ruben & Janice Hixon, David & Teresa Hixon; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruby Woods, Helen Sutherland, Erma Frierson, Bobby Jean & Ed Thompson; thirteen grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and two soon to be born; and her dog, "Poupsey".
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at Horne Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23 at the Open Door Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Fleming officiating. Interment will follow in North Fork Cemetery.
