Dorothy Adkins

Dorothy Roop Adkins, 83, of Christiansburg, passed away on January 5, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. C. F. Roop and Willie Ethel Roop; sisters, Ethel Haire and Leona Adkins; brothers, John Henry Roop, Junice Dale Roop, and Bud Frazier Roop; and son, Larry Anthony Adkins. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Wilford Adkins; sons, Charlie Gayle Adkins and wife Patsy, and Dusty Hal Adkins; daughter, Sandy Cox and husband Calvin; grandchildren, Teresa, Jerry, Larry Jr., Brian, and Corey; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Bobby Roop and wife Bernice, and Joe Roop and wife Ruth; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor T. Michael Bond and Rev. Sebert Rorrer officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
